Patek Philippe Ref. The 5270J-001 chronograph perpetual calendar was given the caliber CH 29-535 PS Q manufactured by the Geneva company, which is a chronograph movement with a perpetual calendar. It is presented in a remarkably elegant gold case, which will undoubtedly attract a large number of high-heeled watch fans.
Like many admirers of Patek Philippe, I felt very sad when I heard that it will not release any new models in 2020. Fortunately, this respected brand changed its mind and released three Grand Complications, including Ref. No. 5270J-001, Ref. 5303R-001, and finally Ref. 5370P-011.
In this case, I chose to focus on Patek Philippe Ref. 5270J-001 chronograph perpetual calendar. The combination of chronograph and perpetual calendar is not for the faint-hearted. However, the Geneva trademark is one of the few companies that can manufacture such mechanically complex watches.
Personally, I was fascinated by the Patek Philippe chronograph perpetual calendar for the first time, a few years ago, when I read an article about Ref in the brand’s magazine. 5970. The model was manufactured between 2004 and 2009 and has since gained a lofty status, reflected in the coveted and rising resale value. The core of this watch replica is Nouvelle Lèmania’s ébauches.
Subsequently, in the workshop of Patek Philippe, experts strengthened this ébauches. For the best practitioners in the haute watch industry, it is not uncommon to purchase jewelry from third parties. Indeed, the prestigious watchmakers Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin used to source ébauches from specialized companies.
Patek Philippe launched the Ref in 2018. 5270 is equipped with caliber CH 29-535 PSQ. This manual winding movement was released in 2011 7 years ago. This is the first perpetual calendar chronograph movement made entirely by Patek Philippe.
Reference to the previous version. 5270 has been placed in platinum and rose gold. The new Patek Philippe Ref. The 5270J-001 chronograph perpetual calendar is presented in a gold case, 41 mm in diameter, with a silver opaque dial, and is worn on a frosted chocolate brown hand-sewn strap.
Press release of the brand (July 2020)
Ref. As the heir to Patek Philippe’s legendary model in 1941. Since 2018, the 5270 chronograph with a perpetual calendar has been on the market, the platinum version with an opaque gold-plated dial, and the rose gold version with a golden “goutte” bracelet. Now, the manufacturer has enriched its existing collection with a new interpretation of this complication that debuted in a golden yellow case. This timeless fake swiss watch combines a concave bezel and a slightly flared strap, which is an elegant piece.
The silver opaque dial with time stamps and golden leaf-shaped hands are clearly visible. The display of the perpetual calendar is balanced, the analog date is displayed at 6 o’clock, the double hole is displayed at 12 o’clock in the day and the month, and the two round holes are displayed in the day/night indicator and the year cycle, not to mention the moon phase aperture. The sandblasting hands are assigned to the chronograph function. The tachometer scale provides a speed reading through the timer pointer.
The CH 29-535 PS Q movement is the first perpetual calendar movement entirely developed and manufactured by Patek Philippe. Its traditional structure (horizontal clutch, column wheel, manual winder) is supplemented by six patented innovations and an ultra-thin calendar mechanism (182 parts; height 1.65 mm). The movement is revealed through the sapphire crystal case back. The watch comes with an interchangeable rose gold solid back cover.
New Ref. 5270J-001 is worn on a hand-stitched frosted chocolate brown alligator leather strap. The strap has large square scales and a golden folding clasp. It joins the previous series in platinum and rose gold versions.
