Breitling has always partnered with and produced watches for those who push themselves to the edge, whether they are pilots, divers, professional athletes, or others who enjoy adventure and high-adrenaline pursuits. (Who could forget the best example of this mission statement, the Breitling Emergency and Emergency II, both watches designed specifically to take you to the edge of the world and help you find your way home?) Recently, Breitling has at least Continuing this tradition and symbolically, the new Endurance Pro Ironman and Endurance Pro Ironman Finisher.
Dubbed the “ultimate sports and leisure watch” by Breitling, this new timepiece is a pair of new chronographs produced in collaboration with Ironman, the extreme racing series known for its ultra-difficult triathlons. They are a follow-up to the 2020 update to the Endurance Pro line, and Breitling’s second collaboration with Ironman since the first limited edition launched in 2019.
The two watches are 44mm in diameter and 12.5mm thick; one comes with a red fumé dial and matching strap, and the other is all black with gold accents. Their cases are made of “Breitlight”, a new polymer material that Breitling swiss claims is “3.3 times lighter than titanium and 5.8 times lighter than steel”, but harder and resistant to “scratch, traction and corrosion” Has significant resistance. On the right, two small pushers with red accents control the chronograph functions, while two guards between them protect a red crown. On top of the case, a bidirectional, compass-printed bezel is the signature feature of the Endurance collection.
In both color options, the watch’s dial continues the style of previous Endurance Pro models, differing from them only by the commemorative Ironman logo at the 6 o’clock position of the running seconds hand. The dial is very sporty in style, with striking hour markers, a subtle 4:30 date window, and the applied Breitling logo towards the 12 o’clock position. Two other subdials occupy the upper half of the dial surface, with the 1/10-second chronograph readout on the right and the parallel 30-minute counter on the left.
Across the dial are a pair of partially filled skeleton hands to indicate the hours and minutes, while a slim arrow-type counter serves as the chronograph seconds. Powering these hands is the Calibre Breitling 82, a super quartz movement with a battery life of 3 to 4 years, depending on how often you use the chronograph.
