BRM celebrates the tenth anniversary of its iconic R50

BRM celebrates the tenth anniversary of its iconic R50 watch, which is a “large displacement” watch inspired by the racing world. It has launched two limited series of limited editions, namely R50-VT-TR and R50-VT. -TJ.

Since 2003, the French manufacturer BRM-Bernard Richards Manufacture has been offering rugged watches with strong mechanical design inspiration. In 2006, it launched the R-50, a super-large titanium case with a diameter of 50 mm. Its movement design was inspired by a motorcycle engine, which shocked the watchmaking industry. According to the BRM deposition isoballistic process, this automatic BRM movement is mounted on a carbon fiber or fiberglass arm that acts as a shock absorber. It uses the same principle as the engine that isolates the engine from the chassis by a mute block.

This uncompromising work immediately aroused interest in the paddock and among mechanical sports and large car enthusiasts, and quickly became a symbolic model of the “racing spirit” proclaimed by Bernard Richard. Over the years, it has offered different versions: sporty checkered titanium (R50-TN-AJ), precious gold (R50-OR), faint Marcoron (R50-MK-AO) and even the iconic Gulf color. Racing (R50-GULF).

In view of the success of this piece, BRM launched a more compact version of R-46 in 2015. Its 46mm diameter seems to be more “regular” for everyday wear. In the same year, it has celebrated the 10th anniversary of the establishment of another iconic product, the V12-44 chronograph, and is considered the brand’s best-selling product.

In order to properly celebrate the tenth anniversary of this iconic work, BRM has launched two limited editions, each of 15 pieces, each with two colors of blue or black for your choice. They are known for their red (R50-VT-TR) or yellow (R50-VT-TJ) color representation.

The male case in the shape of a piston appears to be swollen by the testes and its diameter is 50 mm. It will not be ignored! It is made of blue or black PVD-treated titanium, and its lightness is surprising given its oversized size. We discovered the genes of the BRM brand and the small details that make the watch replica BRM, such as horns and light-colored stainless steel pin buckles. The crown is engraved with a personal number. The bracelet is also sporty and has a perforated “competition” technical fabric, which is stitched according to the color of the hand (red or yellow). Its unique feature is that its structure evokes a motorcycle engine. This is Bernard Richard’s favorite device. He is a smart collector, especially old racing cars.
