Every year, many people look forward to Harry Winston’s discovery at the Basel International luxury cheap watch and Jewellery Show. Last year, in 2011, Harry Wintson launched Opus 11, a very unique and complex piece that uses a “pallet” to indicate time.
Harry Winston, together with Opus 12, launched another extraordinary timepiece for Baselworld 2012. Opus12 collaborates with professional watchmaker Emanual Bouchet, who is passionate about creating authentic products with unique and complex timing methods. Opus 12 has another unconventional time display method. Opus 12 does not use a conventional hand extending from the center, but an inverted hand extending inward from the outer edge. The blue short hand indicates the hour, while the longer hand indicates the minute.
These hands animate the minutes and hours by flipping and rotating to introduce a new way of expressing time. Since the main minute hand only works in five-minute increments, a minute hand indicator is built in, which can also be used as a power reserve. Keep in mind that Opus 12 has more than 600 parts and 2 barrels (one of which is dedicated to the movement of the pointer), and the power reserve is only about 45 hours.
The width of Harry Wintson Opus 12 replica is about 46 mm, and the core of the case is made of Harry Winston’s zirconium alloy. It will also provide polished 18k white gold, and other versions will include diamonds.
